It's that time of year again - time to revisit all of your favorite Christmas movies!  Give a jolly ho ho ho to the Christmas Movie Alphabet, inspired by a variety of holiday classics.  How many can you name using just a letter and an icon? It's time to play the music! When illustrator Luke Flowers invited me to be part of his Raised by Rainbows "Puppet Pals" exhibition, I was beyond honored and excited. I also knew exactly what I wanted to include - an updated version of the Muppet Alphabet that I created 13 years ago (!) and that ignited my recent creative journey. Here is the final version:  Each letter contains characters that I consider a part of the Muppet family. In other words, someone you might see hanging around in a Muppet Family Christmas or at the end of The Muppet Movie (assuming they made these now). This means no Dinosaurs, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, etc. The alphabet is available to purchase from Nov 1-23, 2024 exclusively at Gallery1988 . The Disney Alphabet features characters from every feature by Pixar and Disney Animation, every theatrical spin-off/sequel, every major franchise, and a variety of additional characters from theme parks, shorts, TV series and more. I excluded anything Marvel, Star Wars or Studio Ghibli (distributed by Disney). Some criteria I set for myself: Only one character per franchise per letter and no more than four characters per film over the entire alphabet. I did allow more than four characters from the Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh franchises, but only because they could represent so many shorts and films. However, this did mean some tough calls, which is why you may notice some key players are missing like Minnie Mouse, Belle, Hades, Jasmine, Pete, Kristoff, Miss Piggy, Timon, Pumba, Sebastian, Slinky Dog and more.  That said, I was able to include 424(!) characters. Introducing The Periodic Table of Cereal Mascots, part of a complete breakfast!  A periodic table of cold cereal mascots from 1900 to 2010, all depicted as they were first presented. Characters are sorted horizontally by year and vertically by brand. I tried to avoid most licensed characters, but some were just too iconic like Fred Flintstone for Fruity Pebbles or, well, a Muppet (Croonchy Stars!)

Introducing the Christmas Movie Alphabet!  My objective here was to exclusively stick to cinematic characters, not just generic Christmas icons like Santa Claus, an elf, etc. I cheated a little with Sally, the Pumpkin Queen. And yes, I know John McClane was missed. I tried to stay fairly "family friendly." Have fun guessing who is who. I did include a key at the bottom. "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" is easily my most anticipated movie since 2011's The Muppets. Given this, I was inspired to create The Periodic Table of Weird Al , a tribute to the insanely talented king of musical comedy.  I've been a fan of "Weird Al" since I first heard "Eat It" back in 1984 and I've continued to closely follow his career and purchase every Al-bum he's released. It was a joy to laugh at and fully appreciate his outstanding catalogue while working on this project. "Weird Al" is a treasure. Click on the below image for a high-resolution version.
