Orange Alphabet

I thought it would be fun to celebrate the season with the Orange Alphabet. For this one, I wanted to focus on characters who actually have orange skin, hair/fur and candy coating, not just orange clothing (which means no Michaelangelo, Velma, Fred Flintstone or Kenny).

Depicted are:

A - Ahsoka (Star Wars)

B - Ben Grimm (Fantastic Four)

C - Charizard (Pokemon)

D - Darwin (Amazing World of Gumball)

E - Ember (Elemental)

F - Flame Princess (Adventure Time)

G - Garfield

H - Hobbes (Calvin and Hobbes)

I - Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)

J - Mr. Jinks (Huckleberry Hound Show)

K - Kim Possible

L - The Lorax

M - Mr Tickle (Mr. Men)

N - Nemo (Finding Nemo)

O - Orange M&M

P - Puss in Boots (Shrek)

Q - Q-Bert

R - Robin Hood

S - Swiper (Dora the Explorer)

T - Tigger (Winnie the Pooh)

U - UmiCar (Team Umizoomi)

V - Val Little (Monsters at Work)

W - Wilma (The Flintstones)

X - Xing Xing (Ni Hao, Kai-Lan)

The Periodic Table of the Muppets

A comprehensive depiction of many memorable Muppet characters from throughout the years (and some not-so-memorable ones as well). Each square represents a different character and indicates the primary Muppeteer(s) for that character, as well as the year and production in which the character made its debut. Borders align with hair/hat colour, background aligns with skin/fur colour, and colour of the abbreviated name represents nose colour (for characters with noses that is). The separate sections are based on the show the characters were either created for or most often associated with. The icons within each section are then organized by year of creation. Tweet

Marvelphabet

I'd long considered doing a superhero-themed alphabet but I'd resisted for a variety of reasons, including the sheer immense scope of the superhero universe and the fact that there were other similar pieces out there. Ultimately, however, superheroes and comics were such an important part of my childhood that I couldn't ignore them. So I added a bit of a challenge: I wanted to represent 26 heroes and 26 villains from a specific universe. I wanted to stick to their face and upper torso only (which meant, among other things, no wheelchair for "X" or extra arms for "o") Introducing.... the Marvelphabet: Also available in straight hero and villain versions:   Have fun guessing who is who.

The Horror Icon Alphabet

After seeing the recent glut of kid-friendly fright flicks (ParaNorman, Hotel Transylvania, Frankenweenie), I knew what I wanted to get out of my system before Halloween... The Horror Icon Alphabet, featuring all of (or perhaps some of) your favorite classic horror characters and movie monsters: What was fun with this one is that I tried to take some decidedly non-kid friendly characters and turn them into cute letter figures. I also tried for a mix of old-school horror and more recent films while including as many classics and subgenres of horror (J-Horror, horror comedies, etc) as possible. My biggest regret is that Gremlins didn't make the cut. EDIT: Full key to who is who is as follows: Ash (Evil Dead), Beetlejuice, Chucky (Child's Play), Dracula, Elvira, Frankenstein's Monster, Ghostface (Scream), Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs), The Invisible Man, Jigsaw (Saw), Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Mi...
